Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of your musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, and muscles), as well as the effects these disorders can have on your nervous system and general health. Chiropractors are best known for their specialist interest in treating neck and back pain, but are trained to treat problems throughout the entire body.

Our patients consult us for a range of conditions which include:
Lower back pain including sciatica
Neck pain
Cervicogenic headaches (arising from the neck) and migraine prevention
Generalised aches and pains
Joint pains
Elbow pains and tennis elbow
Ankle sprain
Rotator cuff injuries and soft tissue conditions of the shoulder
Minor sports injuries and tensions
Muscle spasms/cramp
Tension and inability to relax
Plantar fasciitis

Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and treat you without the need for a referral from another practitioner (such as your GP).

What to expect at a session:
At your initial chiropractic consultation, Philippa will ask you to explain how your pain arose, and what it means to you to make sure she understands the impact your pain has been having on your life. You’ll be able to talk through any historic elements that you think may have had an impact on the current problem. This will help Philippa to create a treatment plan suited for you and ensure that you achieve the goals you want from care.

Our experienced chiropractor Philippa understands what pain and problems you can encounter as a result of day to day stress or injuries. As part of her treatment programme, she will work to help restore your normal function and relieve pain. In doing so, her chiropractic care can help relieve the pain and discomfort that arises from injury, stress, poor posture, lack of exercise and everyday strains! Your treatment programme may include manual therapy (adjustments of your spine and joints), soft tissue work, acupuncture, exercises and other techniques. Furthermore, our treatment plans include self-help advice, and personalised exercise programmes delivered to you in video format via our smartphone app or through our patient portal.

Philippa specialises in helping those with persistent, chronic pain. She utilises a range of techniques and strategies to provide hope for those who may feel they have exhausted every avenue of treatment available to them. Furthermore, Philippa has undergone further training to help her provide chiropractic care for children and babies.

Whilst you might come to see us for lower back and neck pain, you can also see us for help with a range of other problems related to the muscles, joints and nerves in any part of your body. Philippa will take your entire physical and psychological wellbeing into account as this can have an impact on your pain and response to care. Remember, chiropractors don’t just relieve pain- we help you take control of it.
